Our week in pictures – Monday 18th to Sunday 24th June 2012:
Monday – we played shops.

Tuesday – we enjoyed breakfast in the sunshine, had delicious tea and cake at Mr Billy’s, played with water in the yard and practised skipping.

Wednesday – we managed to get a bit done at the allotment before the heavy rain set in.

Thursday – we had a quick trip to the park to splash in muddy puddles until rain stopped play again. The afternoon was spent at home getting messy with paints.

Friday – we welcomed a new addition to our family. Meet Teddy. 3 days old and already much loved.

Saturday – Mazey Day! It’s not every day that a band comes past your door at 8.30am. The Golowan Band wander the streets of the town on their ‘Dawn Raids’. It heralds the start of Mazey Day, a massive day in Penzance’s calendar.
We had a wee wander round the streets in the morning, before heading home for lunch and some creative stuff. It was back out after lunch to enjoy all the fun of the fayre. Little My was in a right grump, so we missed all of the parades and she sulked on every ride she begged us to go on, apart from the Helter Skelter and Hook-a-Duck which she loved. At £2 and £2.50 respectively a pop, that girl’s got expensive taste.

Sunday – Quay Fair Day. Mazey Day’s little sister. In some ways I prefer this smaller event to Mazey Day itself, especially when the sun shines like it did today. So, it was round two of Hook-a-Duck, a stroll along the prom, a spot of breakdancing, Jelberts ice cream and a play in the sandy park. It’s all very quiet in this house tonight.
